Healthy Schools

Hawthorn Primary School sees the promotion of health and wellbeing as central to the life of the school.  Health is a precious resource for everyday living.  Everyone deserves an equal chance to learn, work, live and develop free from discrimination, prejudice and fear.

We develop our health education in consultation with partners and stakeholders from the public and voluntary sectors and local communities.  This work is monitored, evaluated and reviewed regularly.

We take into account local and national initiatives to ensure a collective working partnership.  The areas we focus on as a school are as follows:-

Citizenship,

Physical Activity,

Hygiene,

Mental and Emotional Health and well-being.

Healthy Eating,

Safety (including e safety,)

PSE, Personal Development and Relationships,

Environment,

Substance misuse.

 

Medical Information

Prescribed medicines or tablets are not normally allowed in school.  However, a designated member of staff will administer medication when necessary.  A permission form is needed for this to take place. This is available from the school office.
