Croeso/Welcome to Recpetion Class September 2023

Our main focus in our first term in Reception is making sure the children settle in and feel happy coming to school.  Our topic  is "Marvellous Me".  We will be learning about ourselves, our families and forming positive relationships in school and in our community.  We will be exploring the classroom and outdoor environments to answer the questions:

Who am I?

What makes me me?

Who is important to me?

Where do I Live?

How can I be a good friend?

How have I changed?

How is my world changing?

The children will be developing their fine motor skills and writing their names.  They will also practice their phonics and numeracy in lots of practical ways.  

Our weekely routines-

• P.E is on Monday and Fridays.  Children will need P.E kit and trainers on both days.
• Forest School is on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Specific groups will need to bring theor weliies into school.  We will let you know the timetable in due course.
• Please can reading book be returned by Tuesday and a new book will come home by the end of the week.
