Criw Cymraeg

How Criw Cymraeg works in Hawthorn Primary School

Criw Cymraeg Update 20.1.20

The Criw Cymraeg is going well and we have been working very hard. We meet every Monday to plan and make decisions about Welsh in our school. We have discussed and organised phrases of the week and we display them in each class to ensure that everyone is using Welsh every day. We have also been organising and taking part in assemblies to keep everyone updated about what Criw Cymraeg are doing. We have decided to give a reward to one pupil from every class who is trying to use lots of Welsh regularly in attempt to encourage everyone in the school to use more!  This week we will celebrate Diwrnod Santes Dwynwen (Welsh St. Valentine’s Day) by doing some little activities in class and in February we will listen to lots of Welsh music on Dydd Miwsig Cymru - Welsh Music Day.

We are looking forward to expanding everyone’s confidence when using the Welsh language in our school and having fun at the same time.

Blwyddyn Newydd Dda!

Y Criw Cymraeg –

Eisteddfod 2020

This year, our Eisteddfod took place just before March 1st, as this day fell on a Sunday.  We had a very successful morning where pupils from all classes took part in a celebration of music poetry and fun. We also  invited parents/carers into see the work that had been achieved. Over the coming days we will show you some of the pictures that were taken in this, a very important week.  We hope you enjoy them!

Here are some of the images from the Welsh week at Hawthorn Primary School 2020
