Fri-yays!
We are very excited to launch a fresh and dynamic curriculum initiative at Hawthorn Primary this academic year: Fri-yays! — a weekly opportunity for pupils to explore, express, and enrich their learning in creative and meaningful ways.
What is Fri-yays?
Every Friday afternoon, pupils will step outside their usual classroom routines to engage in a variety of curriculum enrichment activities led by different teachers across the school. These sessions are designed to spark curiosity, build new skills, and celebrate pupil voice.
From art and drama to science investigations, outdoor learning, and digital creativity — Fri-yays will offer a rotating menu of experiences that reflect both staff passions and pupil interests.
Why Fri-yays?
- Pupil Voice: Children will have regular opportunities to share their ideas, feedback, and preferences, helping shape future Fri-yay sessions.
- Cross-Year Collaboration: Pupils will work with different teachers and peers, building relationships and broadening their learning community.
- Curriculum Enrichment: Activities will go beyond the standard curriculum, offering fresh perspectives and hands-on experiences.
- Joyful Learning: We want Fridays to be a celebration of creativity, curiosity, and connection — a positive end to each school week.
Looking Ahead
As the year progresses, we’ll be gathering pupil input to evolve and expand Fri-yays. We’re committed to making this initiative a vibrant part of our school culture — where every child feels heard, inspired, and excited to learn.
