Governors
The Governing Body of Hawthorn Primary School plays a vital role in ensuring the school provides high-quality education and supports the wellbeing of its pupils and staff. It works in partnership with the headteacher and staff to set the school’s strategic direction, monitor performance, and ensure accountability. Governors help oversee areas such as budgeting, staffing, curriculum standards, and safeguarding. They also act as a critical friend, offering support and challenge to school leadership, whilst representing the interests of parents, the local community, and other stakeholders. Their work is guided by Welsh Government policies and the principles of equity, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
